Sometimes the phone is not beside me and I don't hear the alarm. After 10 minutes it stops completely.

A better way to handle it in my opinion is:

Alarm for a couple of minutes
Auto-snooze for 5-10 minutes
Alarm again for a couple of minutes.
Repeat for the hour

This way I am more likely to catch the alarm (or wake up) and it is easier on the battery
