A common practice for makefiles in the embedded field is opening a serial console after flashing. It would be handy for users if this toolchain does that too. The only problem is that the serial console program is not portable between windows/linux/mac so we can't lock in on one. Maybe we could take the same approach as the flash scripts and make serial scripts too that at a serial target.
