mpd widget stopped working: N/A #452

I'm using the mpd widget and it stopped working, displaying only "N/A N/A". Checked the logs but there were no messages from awesome. lain version is the latest commit (
af125b324e4ba5f7bd90dbe4202464594afcea4e
), awesome 4.3-r1, mpd 0.21.22.Strangely, I didn't change my mpd settings or upgraded the system's lua installation. Maybe I updated to a new glib-version that's causing the problem?

with netcat, it works (without auth).How else could I debug this issue? awesome doesn't seem to have a verbose flag. Can I somehow use this widget in a script?
