Cleanup warnings

The current project settings lead to hundreds of warnings. Are we actually adopting the rules or can we silence the warnings? If the rules are to be adopted then I think we should tackle the problem straight away and just get it done and cleaned up. I can help with it, but it's going to be a lot of minor edits all over the code base.

Blank line formatting
