I don't know if anyone has interest in this, or if its super needed and I know this is like 4+ years old, but I saw this comment:

your 5th response to his above questions, interested me...

Don't know if it is at all still applicable, but have you, considered jwm as a replacement window manager?

It is extremely lightweight, like mega so, I mention this, just because, fluxbox supposedly is getting heavier from what I have heard lately... and jwm, is made from scratch and uses a small amount of memory, also, I know of a specific repo, that could be used to make it even easier...

https://codeberg.org/jwmkit/jwmkit

I don't know if this should be the default, or if you would want to, but as it is, it could definitely be an alternative.

If you are wondering why I found that issue, in particular, I was looking for the screenshots here:

By themselves, without all the icons, taskbar, etc...

That being said, by itself, jwm, usually uses very little memory or cpu usage at all.

Just thought I would mention this.

I will probably remain with jwm for the forseeable future though.

It is a suggestion, if you have interest.

If it already works with jwm and you are okay with fluxbox, as the default or don't feel like it, no worries,

Just thought you might have interest.
