Maps.me always opens at same location

How can I make maps.me open to my most recent location or where I left off rather than to some sort of default location that it always goes to, despite me not having been there on the map or in person for years?

I agree this is the most annoying thing on maps.me.
This shouldn't be to difficult to fix. Or at least let one choose the initial location in the settings when there is no gps enabled.
