(Updated for AHK++ 6, which has full AHK v2 support) VS Code has some minor issues with language configuration, but this discussion should help you sort out any issues with AHK v1 files being seen as v2 or vice-versa. For reference, v1 files should have a blue icon in VS Code, and v2 files should have a green one: If you're on a v1 file but VS Code thinks it's a v2 file, then you've bumped into a minor issue with VS Code.
