Not executing for existing users #25
Comments
@aaronrothschild this is along the lines of what we talked about for the plugin-specific welcome message. Maybe the best way forward is to continue improving the WelcomeBot plugin, including the above suggestion of checking who already received such and such message, and (re-)sending as needed. |
@levb after restart mattermost server bot stopped to send new messages for recently created users. I define four messages with different delay, but users recivied only two(before restart). Is it the same problem as topicstarter described? |
@maximsnezhkov that sounds unrelated. |
We could use this feature as well. There's currently no way to know who was welcomed nor force displaying the welcome message to specific users. Perhaps these two use-cases could be covered with |
Possibly related, can a user request the team message to be shown by welcomebot? We could ask existing users to execute a Our use-case: Since welcomebot was deployed, several channels have been created and added to the welcome message. New users will be invited/added to those channels. Existing users may not be aware of the new channels or won't be able to join some unless explicitly added/invited. |
We launched the welcomebot plugin after we had users on the server. Those users that existed prior to the plugin activation have never saw the welcomebot message (myself included). Is there a way to check if an existing user hasn't received this message, and prompt them as if they were a new user?
