After #33 is put into place, we can set up a testing database to run our queries against to make sure that our API is tested properly.

This test_views.py has a nice set of tests to look at, from this tutorial.
Testing in Django, but I don't think tastypie would be necessary. test_views.py would probably be better?
Mozilla's Developer tutorial has resources on testing Django, but since we don't use forms, we would just be testing against models.
StackOverflow comment on what's important to test.
