Issue with Custom Date Format in Mermaid Gantt Charts

Hello Mermaid Team,

I am encountering an issue with setting a custom date format in Mermaid Gantt charts. Despite specifying the date format as DD-MM-YYYY using the dateFormat directive, the chart still displays dates in the YYYY-MM-DD format. I am aiming for a day-month-year format but it doesn't seem to take effect.

Here's a snippet of my code for reference:

gantt
    dateFormat  DD-MM-YYYY
    title Sample Gantt Chart

    section Example Section
    Task 1            :done,    task1, 01-01-2024, 01-03-2024
    Task 2            :active,  task2, 01-03-2024, 30-06-2024

Loading

Despite this configuration, the dates in the Gantt chart are still displayed as YYYY-MM-DD. Is this a known issue, or am I missing something in the configuration? Any guidance or workaround to achieve the DD-MM-YYYY format would be greatly appreciated.

The way to fix this is by using 'axisFormat' in the code. as seen below:

gantt
    title Gantt Chart with dates formatted
    dateFormat  DD-MM-YYYY
    axisFormat  %d-%m-%Y
    section Envisioning
    Envisioning          :a1, 01-01-2024, 20-01-2024
    section Development
    Development          :a2, 21-01-2024, 20-03-2024
    section UAT
    UAT                  :a3, 21-03-2024, 10-04-2024
