Tesseract error: "not a valid tesseract language string"

I'm getting an error from Tesseract whenever I have some language other than English. eng is fine, but nothing else seems to work, whether it's just one other language or multiple ones with eng. I use tesseract all the time and I've got the full path in there for the tessdata folder.

The specific error is:

Error: eng+ita not a valid tesseract language string

But I don't think that's straight from tesseract, so I'm not exactly sure what the original error is.
