ToastNotificationManager vs. AppNotificationManager

I'm wondering what is the difference between the following. What is the "correct" one to use to show notifications in a WinUI3 / WindowsAppSDK app? I first used the AppNotificationManager version since I saw it on some sample code for WinUI3. However, I can't get it to work in a background task. See #3540 (comment). ToastNotificationManager works fine though, but I'm unsure if there are repercussions in using it.
