I presume that you are proposing that the paths be relative to the root directory of the project. What if a file is not within that directory? I repeatedly find myself manually modifying pyright CLI output when sharing it, because it prints the full path of files which is both unnecessarily verbose and also contains my username and stuff. It also clogs up day-to-day usage of the CLI interface.
Suggestion: print the relative path of the file instead of the absolute path
if running with
-v
