might be cool to have something like a croissant cloud, no? It seems datasets live on Kaggle, Huggingface, OpenML etc but one place to collect them might make it even easier to share and the others could use the indexed data?

Datasets from all repositories are indexed in Dataset Search. What additional functionality are you thinking about that is not provided by the existing repositories or search engine(s)?
