npmjs.org has a huge amount of keywords for their packages; however, there's no current API to get the database or to use it for bootstrapping modeling.

You could write a registry-follower (tutorial) that could grab keywords from the manifests (suggested by @ag_dubs). The data is present in their system, but there's no API to it at the moment (says @ceejbot). More work will be profitable.

It looks like we could use the work already done in https://github.com/fabric8-analytics/fabric8-analytics-tags. It needs to be sorted and cleaned. This is part of the https://github.com/fabric8-analytics/fabric8-analytics-tagger/.
