Datepicker does not work in datefield after fixing invalid date #289

How to Reproduce

Enter a valid date
Check the datepicker
It works fine
Place a space behind it
Field becomes red
Remove the space
Change the date

Expected behavior

Date gets updated in datepicker

Observed behavior

Datepicker still shows initial date

marikaris added the bug label

marikaris added this to the second milestone
