Tradfri hub freezes after a longer period when polling is configured #59
Comments
This is in line with other repports and my own observations, that polling somehow after a while makes the HUB freeze and need a restart. Hopefully propper observations will remedy this, I'm currently working with converting the adapter to aiocoap, which according to some reportst, provide more stable observations. Until this, as a stopgap messure, I would recommend no polling or alt least using as long a poll intervall as possible. I can't find it now, but I rememeber reading about someone who actually solved this by having his HA toggle the power of the IKEA-gateway once every night... |
Could this also be related to the draining of my dimmer remote? That the polling keeps it from low power mode? |
I don't use the IKEA remotes for anything else than pairing new bulbs, all my switches are either z-wave (fixed switches) or rfx, but I've noticed that the IKEA remotes drain the battery quite fast anyway. I don't use polling at all on my "production" system, and the remotes drains quickly anyway, so I don't know if polling makes the batteries drain faster or not... |
Let's hope their new firmware (in test) is also going to help: http://fw.test.ota.homesmart.ikea.net/feed/version_info.json |
If the polling feature is enabled, the Tradfri hub eventually looses connectivity and needs a reboot to get back to work again.
