Steps to reproduce

From fresh empty state, create one bookmark while in private mode by long-pressing a link and choosing « bookmark link » in the popup menu.

Delete the sole bookmark that exists, that you just created.

Go to iPadOS Home Screen

long press the Firefox icon

Expected behavior

no trace of deleted bookmark

Actual behavior

Llmt-press menu offers option to « open last bookmark » which is the deleted bookmark, while no other bookmark exists.

Device & build information

  • Device: iPad model A2761, iPadOS 18.1.1
  • Build version: 134.0 (49061)
  • First seen version: didn’t write this down but ever since I have Firefox on iPadOS, shortly after Apple was forced to allow other browser (engines).

Notes

Seems to be same bug as #8234, #10386, #12256, #12148 but these are all fixed more than two years ago… and this still happens with latest version.

Bug may or may not be specific to private mode, and may or may not be specific to the case of the deleted bookmark being the only one. These would explain why it still happens after the above mentioned fixes. Or maybe it is a pure regression.
