Hello,

Would it be possible to enable VIM on my RMC unit using CarScanner and dataset to write into F00D00 and set the value to FF.

From my understanding I need to write 3 bytes starting from that address, the first byte being the value. FF and the two following bytes being the CRC16 of FF?

What I am not sure about is if it would be okay to go into CarScanner and select any 5F address in the „Dataset dump“ menu and then manually change the address on that page to F00D00 and set the length to 3 bytes?

Thanks in advance!

Attached Image shows what I mean.

*UPDATE

I was not able to use CarScanner, even with my 100$ adapter, to write to that address. Seems like app does not properly switch obd mode or something like that.

I used my friends OBD Eleven Adapter and the App and I manually programmed that address as shown in the video.

What I found is that when changing the byte at F00D00, the following 2 bytes are not the hash of the first byte, meaning that changing the first byte to FF is enough to get VIM working.

If anyone knows a way to do this using VCDS Cables or ELM327 Adapters please let me know.
