Unable to work change or navigate placeholders

Inserting a snippet and trying to manipulate the placeholders using does simply nothing other than putting me into normal mode. Pressing does the same thing. I've checked with :map that there is no collision between any of the keybindings.

Ok so it turns out that this only effects texlab snippets on my machine. Lua snippets seem to work fine.
