I mentioned this as a response to a feature request for an onboard video player in M4, but I realized that my suggestion is worth noting on its own. What I suggest is a 'baby step' that I imagine would be relatively easy to implement:
-Create an output socket for M4s MIDI timecode.
There is already an output for live MIDI control data. If the raw MIDI timecode was channeled to an output socket, then it could be available to timecode aware peripherals (hardware and software). Be aware that I am not asking for a MIDI Timecode Interface, where M4 could be controlled in a slave mode. I am merely asking for access to MuseScore's real-time timecode data so that M4 could be utilized as a master transport controller for other software. I don't see that there would be any need for Jack audio interface, etc. or any other sync capability. The timecode stream should be sufficient to accomplish a whole lot of capability that has been lost in the transition from M3 to M4.

Would this be easy to do?
