Your idea

If two voices share the same note, there would be one note head, and it should be possible to have a fret on just one string in linked tabs.

Problem to be solved

Currently linked tabs "insist" on having frets on different strings; for example, "0" on string 1 and "5" on string 2 for E4.

The linked tablature could not be simply unlinked, so this issue has to be resolved by creation a non-linked staff, pasting the score and manual editing. Also, any later changes in the score would not be reflected in tabs.

Additional context

In the latest Sibelius experience was marginally better.
Moving frets to the same string is allowed, though the numbers are simply "stacked" in the same position.
Good enought for unison, but for E4 flat and C4 on the second strings - "1" would be somewhat visible through "4", and there was no error indications.
