SMS support?

Is there any support for sending to SMS? I get at this in this SO question, but I came here hoping for a solution along those lines.

Is that imlpementable? Or is that more a SLURM concern than a something one could handle with slurm-mail?

Hi. For Slurm-Mail to be able to send SMS messages it would need to integrate with a thrid party service of some sort.

For example, you can use Slurm-Mail with AWS Parallel Cluster and make use of AWS SES and SNS to send SMS messages for your jobs. See https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/hpc/implementing-e-mail-and-sms-notifications-in-aws-parallelcluster-with-slurm/

Is there reason why SMS is preferred over e-mail? I only ask as smart phones support both.
