Server GLOBAL feeds

As a nextcloud server administrator, I'd like to establish a selection of appropriate news feeds for all of my users to have access to. Most users can't figure out how this "RSS" stuff works at all, so its generally not helpful to have this software available without prepopulating it with some feeds.

1. Rather than having every user separately fetch that feed, I'd like the server to fetch it once for everyone. This makes news sources less mad at you for hammering their servers.
2. It would be nice to have the option to control whether or not users have the option to opt-OUT of a particular feed.
3. It would be VERY nice to have the option to control whether or not users have the option to add their own feeds (given the condition that the server supplies some feeds for them).

Hi there,

News is more designed like a normal feed reader same like other products and open source projects. Therefore the approach that every user adds the feed they want is expected.

But you are not the first person who would like to have more control over what feeds the users subscribe to, this seems to come especially from schools companies and similar organisations. I can understand that wish and I would be open to a change of news in that way.

PRs are welcome, especially for number 1. Currently the schema of the dB entangles feeds, users and items in a way that it is not possible to have what you described there.
Of course the logic and API would also require a bit of reconstruction. A first step would be though to entangle the schema, create migration steps and so on while keeping the current overall logic.

I'm currently not interested in doing this work.
