Feature request

Talk has, fundamentally, multiple use cases.

• team chat - we rock at this
• regular calls - also quite good
• one-off calls/meetings - not so great
• webinars - pretty good, too

With team chat, rooms make sense. Similar with regular calls. But for one-off calls or meetings, the flow of creating a room is not super convenient or logical. What helps is that the Calendar app has nice integration for creating these rooms, and we want to make it easy to also schedule one from Talk and perhaps improve the creation flow of rooms. What is missing are two things:

• cleaning up and perhaps visually separating one-off meeting rooms from the 'regular' rooms
• a more meeting-focused view

This feature request is about that second thing, to replace our current view when opening the app with something more similar to what others have:

I think a view with these items would be helpful:

• 'your upcoming meetings' (the ones in your calendar)
• schedule a new meeting (basically, schedule meeting from Talk
• maybe: 'meet now' or 'start a meeting' which just creates a meeting with a bland name so you can send the link immediately. Solves a similar issue as improve the creation flow of rooms.
• maybe: other meetings (list of scheduled calls in all rooms you are in, even if they are not in your calendar)

A few months ago, we had a call about Appointments app and how to improve it. We discussed separating one-time conversations created by Appointments and other things. It overlaps a bit with this issue. Jan would have more info about that.
