Cannot run on ARM ?

Trying to run the docker version on my raspberry pi

on my mac it runs fine but on raspberry pi I get error with docker logs the container keeps restarting:

docker logs glances
exec /bin/sh: exec format error

here is my docker-compose. I also tried the ubuntu version

    container_name: glances
    image: nicolargo/glances:latest
    restart: always
    pid: host
    ports:

    platform: linux/amd64

Only image for ARM64/v8 and AMD64 are available.

Glances Dockerfile is available here: https://github.com/nicolargo/glances/blob/develop/docker-files/alpine.Dockerfile

Please let me know if you success to build image for another architecture.

@nicolargo sorry but this is very unclear to me I tried copying the alpine.Dockerfile to a folder and then docker build -t "glances" . but I get error ERROR: failed to solve: alpine:3.20: failed to resolve source metadata for docker.io/library/alpine:3.20: failed to do request: Head "https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/library/alpine/manifests/3.20": dial tcp: lookup registry-1.docker.io on 192.168.8.1:53: read udp 192.168.8.117:57111->192.168.8.1:53: i/o timeout

Im sure Im missing something for sure but.. with all due respect because I would not be able to create something like this; why do you not provide an ARM image in this age where ARM is everywhere ? seems to me that the glances crowd use a lot of arm devices ?

So back to DIY method, I also tried reading the readme in the folder saying "make docker" and tried the command with no effect and another error message.

There is also a Dockerfile in the docker-compose folder; I do not understand why they are so different ?

Im sorry I tried reading the docs but all this seems quite cumbersome and unclear to me; like I know I will have to create a root password later for api access later. I'm thinking is it possible to specify this in compose ? We could use secrets if security is a concern ?

Still wanting to give a proper go to your software but I find myself stumbling of what I thought where easy things for me by now.

Glances is available for ARM, but only for ARM64/v8:

I do not have time to maintain Glances Docker images for all architectures.
