To gather feedback about the internal first version, I would like to put the MSI and dmg binaries on the following page as the first step.

https://github.com/node-red/node-red-desktop/releases

Please write a comment if there's an opinion about it or additional functionalities which we need in the internal first version.

@knolleary @dceejay Could you accept me to make the MSI and dmg binaries public? I created the draft page as follows.

Can we have linux installers as well?

If we create a release, it needs to have a beta label on it - I don't think we're in a position to release this as a fully supported, ready for production type thing.

I would prefer we do a smaller scale beta release and then target 3.0 for doing a proper release. That will require documentation and updates to the website to explain what it is and how to use it.

We can have Linux installer. I updated README.md about how to use the installer and put binaries labeled with beta as follows.

I tested msi file on Windows 11, dmg file on macOS Big Sur 11.6.5, deb file on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, ARM deb file on Raspberry Pi OS full (January 28th 2022 version). I didn't check rpm file yet.

I tested the rpm file installer on RHEL8.3. After adding the libXScrnSaver module, we can install Node-RED by the rpm installer.
