My first guess is that there are still no theme keys available that allow to explicitly customize the color of specific icons but only the ones that set a color globally for all icons. Since the base background color is nord0 a light color like nord4 was chosen to ensure that most icons have a high contrast and good visibility. This case on the other hand is one of the few where this style doesn't apply. Unfortunately, I fear that not much can be changed at the moment as long as the JetBrains theme API doesn't provide the tools to do so. Maybe some of the more recent version updates includes keys, but this must be tested either manually since as far as I know there is still no detailed documentation about available theme keys.
