For a great many people, audio/video alone is a suboptimal way of learning, and are greatly assisted by closed captions/subtitles and/or a transcript. There are also a number of people who may watch the videos in a loud environment, where subtitles can help. Additionally, having a transcript allows the video content to be searchable (even if only to purchasers).

Having either or both would increase both engagement and overall customer reach.

TEDTalks are a great example of both subtitles and a timestamped (and highlighted with the video!) transcript.
