Add a Native Federation generator

HI,

As Webpack is getting more and more deprecated in favour of esbuild, are you planning to add a generator for the tooling-agnostic Native Federation from @manfredsteyer ?

This way we could generate microfrontends with any bundler without being tied to Webpack

I know one already exists (@angular-architects/native-federation) but I find that it does not really compare to the one Nx is providing for Module Federation. It does the job but it's missing some ease of use.

I'm playing with Native Federation (@angular-architects/native-federation) and love the way it works. Since we use NX a lot in our Angular projects, it would be great to have built-in tools from NX.

I would prefer a focus on transitioning to Module Federation 2.0, which is also bundler independent

How is it bundler independent when you need the bundler to provide a plugin?

Seems to support only webpack and rspack for now.

What about rollup and esbuild?

I don't get why energy is spent on Module Federation when we have importmaps(aka Native Federation) which is now in all modern browsers.

What am I missing?

Based on my understanding dynamic module federation as Nx implements on top of module federation is basically impossible with native federation because import maps are hard coded into your index.html and can't be updated without a deploy of your shell application, however I may be wrong so I'd love to hear others input on the topic

The generation of the importmap in the HTML would be more the responsibility of the @angular-architects/native-federation builder.

NX's responsability AFAIK would be to provide tooling around generators targetting the use of @angular-architects/native-federation.
