Steps to reproduce:
Run NVDA. Navigate to HTML or PDF document containing unchecked checkbox unicode character (U+2610). The unicode character is technically named "ballot box." Press INSERT + DOWN ARROW.
Actual behavior:
NVDA does not read anything. For the checked version of the same checkbox (U+2611), NVDA announces there is a checkbox with a checkmark.
Expected behavior:
NVDA would ideally announce "checkbox (unchecked)." Though the unicode is technically named, "ballot box," I believe the more common and user-friendly term would be a "checkbox" and the state being "unchecked" would help inform users. Announcing "checkbox" would also complement the announcement for the "checked" state unicode character (U+2611).
