Heading level links with diacritics not handled correctly

As far as I can see, in the transformation only ü (-> ue) and ö (->oe) is handled, normal á is changed to a, é to e, etc.
Consequently, not many heading level links can be previewed or opened at heading level.

Is it possible to add the remaining diacritic characters for transformation?

Also: if filenames are handled with url encoding, why not heading level links?
That way, it would be one javascript line to sort all.., if I'm not mistaken.
