Hi! Me and my college have been waiting for release with bug fix #1942. PR is already merged in master. And then I noticed, there was no bugfix releases between minor versions of package in past. At least https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-python/releases looks like it. While from my personal perspective I believe this fix deserves hot-fix release to PyPi, I understand that it may be not so easy for mantainers with current release workflow. So it would be nice to know current policy about bugfix releases, and when the next minor release is planned. |

A minor release should be occurring by today or tomorrow. Hotfixes have been made before but we do not have an official policy for them. Generally, if the bug prevents users from installing our packages or if a once stable package is breaking users, then we will do a hotfix release. Bug #1942 was not deemed to be one of those.
