Challenge: design a 1inch optic holder that sits inline (0deg angle), offers tip-tilt adjustment and fits within a 30mm cage system.
Design f605377
The design consists of two rings that are hinged on two opposite piviots. The 2nd ring pivots relative to the first one. Adjustment is done via 2 M3 setscrews. Hinges are simple arced type (pre-tilted to 3deg) and about 3mm deep:
The 2nd ring also holds the optic, with the retaining lip tuned to the curvature of the lens. It is is held in place with a retention spring.
part in freecad
crappy cross-section
and the printed part (SLS nylon)
Finally, fitted with 80mm lens, but without the retention spring:

Points for improvement
The new hinges are 0.5mm thicker, now being 1.5mm at the thinnest point. Will be tested in the next SLS order batch.
