What is the bug?
In 2.11 it looks like Saved Queries were stored in the .kibana index. Among other things this meant that they could be imported/exported from the UI without issue. This behavior regressed some time between 2.11 and 2.12.

How can one reproduce the bug?
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Observability / Logs
  2. Add sample data
  3. Go to Dashboards Management / Saved Objects
  4. There's a search filter for observability-search that represents the queries, but they don't show up. If querying .kibana these objects don't show up either.

What is the expected behavior?
Saved objects should show up in this list, rendering their name correctly (and not the default observability-search [id]).

What is your host/environment?

  • OS: MacOS Darwin
  • Version 23.3
  • Dashboards Observability 2.12 or 2.13

Looks like this has been addressed a while ago on main, @paulstn confirm this is ready to close/which version it's fixed in?
