We are working with a contributor @VasuDevrani to design and develop the ORAS Artifact Explorer as explained in oras-project/oras-www#158. This is an LFX mentorship project. Now we have the initial implementation almost done, the source code is hosted at https://github.com/VasuDevrani/artifact-explorer-oras. Vasu demonstrated the project in the ORAS community meeting on Aug 16. See the recording https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mc_ZChp4gc

We would like to request to create a new repository for this project and make it an ORAS sub-project. Could ORAS maintainers vote on this proposal? Thanks

I think we are expecting ORAS org maintainers to vote on this issue based on the governance doc.
@SteveLasker @sabre1041 Would you mind voting on this issue?

The vote passed! We will need @VasuDevrani to assist us to transfer the ORAS artifact explorer from his own to the ORAS org.

Hi @oras-project/oras-org-maintainers ,

I have been contacting @VasuDevrani for two months on Slack/Email but no responses from him. Maybe @VasuDevrani is busy with another thread in recent two months.

A possible option in my mind is to fork the ORAS artifact explorer into ORAS org and continue to iterate this project by us. We can discuss the possible approach on how to move this ORAS artifact explorer project forward in the next community meeting. We may also need to revisit this project value and determine whether we really need to accept it as a sub-project and keep maintaining it.

Hi @oras-project/oras-org-maintainers,
It's been a while since there was any progress on the project. I want to reaffirm my commitment and availability to support the project's advancement and facilitate its migration as necessary. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Hi everyone,
I've come across Vesu's project artifact-explorer-oras. I'd like to know if it was taken as a ORAS sub-project or not yet?
As of this issue here, it appears the project was accepted but there are no updates regarding it for a while now. Will it be integrated anytime soon within the official ORAS project?

@MohamedRhimii We are making the final decision on this and will have the answer this week (after the community meeting).
