Low performance / can't get NvFBC to work #438

I have probably a related problem: Manjaro Using sunshine flatpak version 23.1 my NvFBC capture method works without problem (note: to use the patch for flatpak you have to use the -f argument). Then I installed also a "self build" version from a forked repo (that adds ds controller for linux users) and it works, but it does not recognize the NvFBC capture method (I patched also without the -f argument). The forked repo is based on sunshine 22.2. The problem I have on the second installation could be linked to changes on the forked repo (although only few changes were done) or the slightly older version so I didn't report it. But still, since we have a very similar setup it could also give some information on whats happening to you. |

Thanks for the reply micoro, I've been testing the sunshine flatpak build (Version 0.23.1.8b21db6.dirty) and I managed to make it work with NvFBC, though not consistently, and I don't know what causes it to work or not Here's the log for a disconnect and a reconnect when NvFBC is working:
I also find weird that even when it falls back to X11 it's now able to maintain consistent 60fps with much less CPU usage than with the build from AUR. |

good! I cannot help with this new problem. Someone more expert should get on it^^. About the initial problem: how did you install sunshine initially? AUR, appimage.. |

small update on my side: I did re-build the sunshine fork (https://github.com/ABeltramo/Sunshine/tree/nightly), but this time before building it I did install cuda and cuda-tools from pacman. |

I'm trying to stream at 4k, but I'm only getting around 40fps, my guess is it's due to the capture method, but I'm not even sure.
The only capture methods that work for me is X11 when using Xorg and KMS when using Wayland.
Setup:
When trying to force NvFBC I get the following error in the log:
I have patched the nvidia drivers using nvidia-patch and have cuda installed (not sure if necessary).
Is there any log that is more complete, or something else obvious that I'm missing?
