Poor performance in TF2

Wine seems to have excessive CPU usage on my machine (MBP 2016) when running a game (Team Fortress 2, the console is full of WARNING: SteamNetworkingSockets lock held for 6.7ms. (Performance warning.) ServiceThread. This is usually a symptom of a general performance problem such as thread starvation.). This happens even when just in the menu, and the game generally runs poorly, even with all settings set to low. Any ideas how to solve this?

Performance has improved with the new 64-bit version of TF2 and the latest Wineskin. The console still has these messages, but CPU usage is at normal levels.
