As many users have stated, there seems to be no way to add an exe to Whisky's home screen unless it's been installed via Windows Installer (which generates Start Menu shortcuts and registry entries).
e.g. Download an app/game that's in a zip file with no installer, and unzip it to the bottle. You can run the app via the 'Run' button and navigating to the exe, but it would be nice to have the option to pin this exe to the home screen. I believe Crossover has this feature.
EDIT1: Sorry, just seen this feature might be coming in v2.1.1 (#539). Great news!
EDIT2: Moving the portable app to C:\Program Files (x86)\ adds the exe to the 'installed' list. This a perfect! :)
