Add email to an existing phone auth user

We are trying out the new phone auth system and it's working great. One question we have though is how to eventually add an email address to the account after it is created.

Would we do something like this?

const { user, error } = await supabase.auth.update({ 
  data: { email: '[email protected]' } 
})

//or this

const { user, error } = await supabase.auth.update({ 
  email: email@email.com 
})

Or some other method?
