  • I have read the entirety of the FAQ section in the readme, and my question was not answered there, or was not answered sufficiently
  • I have ran general troubleshooting steps (if applicable), such as restarting the PC/reinstalling Origin/whatever else is described in the FAQ, and they didn't help
  • I have checked existing issues (including closed ones), and there wasn't an existing issue pertaining to my problem (with possible solutions in the comments)

Your issue

Hello
I'm struggling with creating console like feeling with mini pc (windows 11 and steam ran as shell (without explorer.exe)). Steam is running as big picture mode and operated only thru gamepad. Currently I'm trying to run from big picture mode need for speed unbound. I found your genius program, but it helps partially - opens origin loader in background (instead of ea app in front) then shows steam overlay and in background runs game. And this is the issue - I need to use keyboard to alt+tab to game window.

Can I get any help here?

There's this project for example, but it's not ideal since it requires adding a Non-Steam game copy (was made in times these games weren't on Steam itself I guess): https://github.com/WombatFromHell/OriginSteamOverlayLauncher

What you could try perhaps is to have Origin already running in the background before starting up the game. Or perhaps having the shortcut run origin://launch/<GAME_ID_ON_ORIGIN> instead of the exe...?

Generally the issue is that firstly Steam injects the overlay into Origin as the first program to start up (probably detects GPU accelerated browser there and decides it's the game), and that Origin when booting up the exe, it does close that exe you launched yourself first, to then spawn a new exe from within Origin itself...

You can search around the internet for workarounds related to Origin games and Steam's in-game overlay, I believe this is the same issue you have, and so the same workarounds should work for it...

MAy i ask you to elaborate about this origin launch ? So hide original game in steam since it has no shortcut to change directory folder. then add non steam game with destination element origin://launch/196787 what should i add in start in folder ? Game id is 196787. When i created this shortcut it just open origin.
To be honest before i wrote here i already searched for any solution and didnt came up with some working one. is it possible to somehow put thru your dll that window with game as soon as it starts up will be active and top ?
