Is it still possible to buy games through Origin?

• I ensured I'm running the latest version of the patch, and that the issue is present in it if applicable

Your issue

From what I can find the origin store is basically shut down, but I'm still able to open Origin and get all the way to the payment information page. Considering the reason I can even open Origin PC is because of the fuckofEA exe, I was wondering if it's possible to buy games through Origin with it installed. Like does Origin still work when you buy a game or not. Figured best place to ask would be here

dang is there any way to get new games then?
mostly looking at sims packs which i cant exactly get in "other methods" cause it would mix with my bought packs which could cause it just completely lock out
