getCellsPolylines returns ambiguous result

If I get vertices on the poly line generated from the call, the points do not seem correct. The first three points are identical, the second three as well, and so on. Always sets of three identical points.

I can't understand the logic (it looks very mystical) so I am having some trouble understanding it. What is it 'supposed' to return.

I was hoping for a distinct method for working with the sides for each cell.
