In the actual global conditions, when many restaurants will reconsider their business plan and will think about home delivery, an enhancement for the Food Menu Block might help.

More specifically, I was thinking about adding an option that will allow product image uploading. When ordering from home, customers are willing to see how the products look like, before ordering. I've been asked for this by many customers in the past few years for Menu Shortcode we use on the Rosa 1 theme.

Not sure exactly how or if it's possible, but I was thinking about adding this here, so we can talk about it and make a decision.

@alinclamba That's a good insight and it would be great to take it into consideration for a future update!

To narrow things down I'm noticing two directions to explore:

1. Image for Food Menu Items
In real life it's not that usual to see images through the food menu — you can find a few examples on https://www.underconsideration.com/artofthemenu/ and very few of them include images.

Anyway, this would be an enhancement to the current system to provide more flexibility in displaying the menu items. It would be quite easy and clear to make but the actual order system would be taken in another place (eg. through phone or an external vendor like Takeaway or Eucemananc).

1. Display WooCommerce products in the same style as Food Menu
This will help the venues to provide the actual functionality of home delivery straight from their website. In this case, the problem should be approached the other way around and see how we can provide an alternative styling for the current grid implementation from WooCommerce (eg. see Rosa2 as an example)

Does your suggestion include any eCommerce functionality? Otherwise, I suggest that in this issue, to discuss only about the current block and the likelihood to add some visual support to each menu item.

@georgeolaru thanks for jumping in and getting more clarification on this.

What I had in my mind, according to the customer's feedback and requests, was the possibility to add an image for food menu items.

Thanks @alinclamba - got it now! Do you have any other feedback from those customers? (direct quotes are preferred if you can extract them from context).

I know that this is a pretty straightforward task but I want to make some push back and not get new features into it unless they have a clear purpose and solve a real problem. As you might now, the initial version of Rosa it's doing well and still doesn't support images for the food menu.

@alinclamba I just want to follow-up and to add that it's no rush on this matter. Whenever you have time to search for the feedback from the customers, please drop it here.

In the meantime, I will postpone the development of this feature and prioritize it for later.

@georgeolaru I have a new customer with this request. Find his message below:

Trying to recreate this with the nova menu block but the inline image isn't lining up correctly as my old site using Rosa1 https://www.rispostabistro.com/quick-takeout/
