General

Introducing the brand new "Plugin manager"

Plugins are now separate parts from the main poi. They can now be downloaded, enabled/disabled, upgraded independently. This will especially benefit those information-based plugins that needs updating with every update of the game, such as "Quest Information", so that they don't have to wait for the next release of poi just to add a few lines. Also, plugins can now be updated at a more regular basis.

• Management of the plugins
  • Plugins are no longer included in the release archive of main poi. Instead, you will download them manually inside the settings panel after you launched the new poi. Don't worry, that's just a click on the button.
  • Plugins are no longer stored in the plugins folder inside the root of main poi. Instead, they are moved into somewhere inside your user folder of the operating system. Plugins are removed if you delete the main poi.
• Downloading plugins
  • You can choose from the several mirrors provided in the advanced plugin settings. An accessible mirror also enables you to receive plugin update notifications.
  • For those users to whom none of the mirrors is accessible, they can install a plugin from its offline plugin tarball.
  • An offline plugin tarball is simply a tar.gz archived file that wraps a plugin.
  • A collection the offline tarball of the official plugins (see below) with the most recent version will be provided with every release of main poi.
• Official plugins and third-party plugins
  • A list of "official plugins", which are those developed and maintained by the poi team, is included along with main poi.
  • Official plugins will appear in the plugin list with a "not installed" status even if you haven't installed them.
  • We also encourages the development of third-party plugins.
  • Third-party plugins should be published on npmjs.com with prefix poi-plugin- so that it can be easily searched and recognized.
  • Third-party plugins can be installed by simply providing the plugin name. They can also be installed, of course, with offline tarballs.
  • You can search for plugins from the plugin settings.
• We will summarize the update of official plugins between every major updates in the release changelog.

Features

• A new set of HD icons, in replacement of the original icons, is available under the display settings. This is expected to enhance the display on HD screens.
  • The new icons adopted flat design rather than the original quasi-physical style to stay consistent with the other part of poi, which makes it look a little unfamiliar at first sight.
  • Nevertheless, it's still in progress and we are looking forward to your feedback.
• Introducing "Tips". Shown in the status bar at start-up and every half hour hereafter, it includes unnoticed features, precautions, and other trivia about poi.
  • You can disable it in the settings.
• "Modernization-delta".
  • The result of a modernization (merging) will be displayed in the status bar. The amount of improvement of each status will be listed.
  • As you may have known or not known, each status that is under modernization ends up either "adding all" or "adding around half" for the basic four properties, and "round up" or "round down" for Luck. The previous case will be displayed as "++" and the latter case "+".
• The control bar can now be collapsed. Less common buttons are hidden inside by default.
• The map-reminder will now display the difficulty of an event map.
• More options to notification: you can now control the line of fatigue recovery, and the period of time that you want to be noticed in advance before an expedition returns.
• More options to sortie check: you can now set the number of vacancies of both ship and equipment.
• Added customization of boss key.
  • For Mac users: there is a global boss key Cmd+H for every application.
• Added customization of cache directory.
• Added percentage specification when setting the flash resolution.
• Added option "Prevent DMM Network Change Popup" because it sometimes annoys people.
• Minor UI fixes.
• The scripts are now precompiled before release; in another word, we expect it shortens the start-up time.
• The poi app is now archived as a asar package. The influences are:
  • Almost no more path-too-long errors.
  • The extraction of the release archive of poi will be much faster.
  • The update patch will be app.asar from now on instead of app.7z.

Plugin updates

• Prophet
  • Notices you when any item drops from sortie, including but not limited to Present Boxes and Decoration Materials this time.
• Exp Calc
  • Level limit rose to 155.
  • Shows at the poi status bar the experiences you'll get from an exercise opponent, and the bonuses you get from Training Cruisers.
  • When specifying a ship that has passed its own remodel level, the target level will display the level of the next remodel if available.
• Quest Information
  • Added English and Japanese translation for the requirement and reward of all quests.
  • Added latest quests.
  • Fixed some prerequisite information.
• Composition Record (originally named Hensei Nikki)
  • Rearranged display.
  • You can now preview the composition of your current fleets in "import" without actually adding them.
• Logbook
  • Minor UI fixes. Minor compatibility enhancement. Minor effects added.
• Equipment Improvement
  • A tickbox is added in front of each row to highlight your interested equipment!
• Ship Girls Info
  • New filter added: Modernization completed
• Equipment Info
  • Planes are now listed with their aircraft proficiency.
  • The number equipped is displayed if multiple pieces of equipment are on the same ship.
  • UI fixes.

New plugin: Translator

Translate ship names, equipment names, item names (and probably more) into English, by installing this plugin (and setting language to English)!
