HTTP network share broken

I use python http.server module to share files locally, this used to work like a charm.
However, now instead of seeing the contents of the remote folder, nxmp displays local root partition.
Any thoughts on what is causing this? I am on version 0.9.0, remote server is my daily driver Linux box.
