Talk title

Leaving tech to self-actualize

Abstract

I turned 32 recently, about a month after I left my last monogamous relationship and began identifying as queer. In many ways, that life change was enabled by a level of self-exploration I had time to do because I left full-time tech work (which was enabled by a successful 10-year career in tech). I thought I'd talk about my journey from bog-standard semi-depressed cishet tech bro to a queer boi who's learning how to thrive.

Your name (and pronouns)

Carl Vitullo, he/him

This is my first talk, other than a meetup in ~2017-18. I haven't attended a workshop

Location

NYC, based in Brooklyn (Kensington, south of Park Slope)
