I think the welcome page should give readers a quick idea of the book's purpose and scope. A couple of suggestions:

Move the current content of the Introduction section to the About page.
I'm not sure that experience of debugging is a necessary prerequisite for using the guide - it's good for any package developer to have, but they be able to follow the problem and solution without this. So I would just make the current two bullets under Prerequisites into a two paragraph Introduction section.
