Juypter notebook cannot open the .ipynb files as they are not JSON format

I am new to the book and am trying to set up the ubuntu system. Now I have the problem that I cannot open the provided files like ch03.ipynb. I get error messages that the file is not in JSON format. How can this be fixed?

Hi Manfred. Thanks for getting a copy and sorry about the confusion. These are jupyter notebook files (which are usually in JSON format) and need to be opened in a Jupyter notebook, Jupyter Lab, or Visual Studio program. You can install jupyter lab via pip install jupyterlab in the terminal and then executing jupyter lab in the terminal to start a new session from where you can open the notebook.
