The current CloudFormation cannot be deployed since the "nodejs" Lambda engine is no longer available for the newly created lambdas. Moreover, according to the link above the currently running lambdas have quite a short life expectancy and will cease to exist "early in 2017".

The risk is that if you are relying on sshephalopod in your environment, somewhere in 2017 you will lose access to your instances unless this issue is resolved.
